Accessing the function

In the Sound recordings/My sound recordings menu, select the sound recording, then use the Details action followed by the Edit action for the stored variant to be modified.

Function overview

This function allows the rights holder to modify some data of the selected stored variant of the sound recording.

To do this, you must complete the My sound recordings – Data of this sound recording window that appears.

My sound recordings – Data of this sound recording

The window displays the data of the stored variant. The performer, title, and version fields identify the sound recording to which the stored variant belongs. These three key fields can only be modified to a limited extent, as long as their hash value matches the original.

The following modifications are allowed, for example:

  • correcting accent errors
  • inserting or removing special characters or spaces
  • changing lowercase/uppercase letters

If you leave a modified field and the change results in a hash different from the original, a red error message appears next to the field: Not the same recording.

Modify the remaining fields of the form with the desired data. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.

New variant data

  • ISRC: The ISRC code of the sound recording
  • Album: The album containing the sound recording
  • Producer of sound recording: The producer of the sound recording
  • Original release date: The official original release date of the sound recording. Select using the calendar.
  • Length: The duration of the sound recording (in hh:mm:ss format)
  • Genre: Select the genre of the recording from the dropdown list
  • Comment: Additional information you may freely provide for the recording

You can discard the form at any time using the Cancel button and return to the list of stored variants.

If the form is completed correctly, clicking the  OK  button will temporarily apply the stored variant modification. The system will return to the list of stored variants, where the variant now appears with the modified data.

Important

The modification will only be permanently saved if you confirm the changes using the  Save  button in the stored variants list.

See: Stored variants of the sound recording/Confirming modifications.
